Commands

  • mkdocs new [dir-name] - Create a new project.
  • mkdocs serve - Start the live-reloading docs server.
  • mkdocs build - Build the documentation site.
  • mkdocs -h - Print help message and exit.

Project layout

    mkdocs.yml    # The configuration file.
    docs/
        index.md  # The documentation homepage.
        ...       # Other markdown pages, images and other files.

Config Github Page

Create Github Action workflow fil, such as .github/workflows/ci.yml, with the following content:

      - run: pip install mkdocs-material 
      - run: mkdocs gh-deploy --force

Then go to the settings of your repository and ensure that the publishing source branch for your GitHub Page is set to gh-pages.
